ASUS today rolled out the G73JH-X1 17.3-inch gaming laptop in the US market via Newegg. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core i7 720QM quad core processor with a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics, an 8GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive, a DVD burner, an 8-cell battery and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium OS. The G73JH-X1 features a 17.3-inch (1920 x 1080) LED backlight display. Additional specs include built-in stereo speakers, a 2.0MP webcam, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, an Ethernet LAN port, HDMI and VGA outputs, four USB ports, and an 8-in-1 media card reader. Weighing 8 lbs, the Asus G73JH-X1 is priced at $1,429.99

We’d already had a pretty clear indication that ASUS’s Ion-infused Eee PC 1201N was on the way, and even gotten word of a few purported specs, but it looks like yet another leak has now kicked things even closer to all-but-official territory. Judging from the specs that appeared (briefly) on EeePC.it, this one will pack a 12.1-inch screen and Ion chipset as expected, plus an dual-core Atom 330 processor, which is certainly more welcome than the Atom 270 that was previously rumored. Otherwise, you can apparently expect 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, HDMI out, a multitouch trackpad, and a six-cell battery, among other standard fare (including Windows 7, of course). If that’s all a bit much for you, it looks like ASUS will also have a non-Ion version of the netbook in the form of the Eee PC 1201HA, which dials the specs back across the board, including an Intel Atom Z520 and the usual integrated GMA 500 graphics in place of Ion. Still no firm word on a release for either of ‘em, but all signs point to them being available on or shortly after the big Windows 7 launch date.

Asustek has published details of the Asus M60J 16-inch entertainment laptop, based on the new Intel Core i7 Mobile processor.

The M60J features the Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz or 820QM 1.73GHz CPU, the NVIDIA GeForce GT240M 1GB dedicated video card, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 1TB of hard drive space using two HDDs, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive.

The notebook’s display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

The Asus M60J also sports a 2MP web camera, stereo speakers, 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth in select models, a Gigabit LAN port, HDMI and VGA outputs, four USB ports, an eSATA port, an ExpressCard slot, a 4-in-1 media card reader, and a fingerprint reader.

Another feature is the AI TouchMedia, a one-touch multimedia center with an intuitive control panel that combines both hardware and software interface to control videos, photographs, music, and various other forms of multimedia.

The M60J runs Windows Vista OS.

The company is also expected to release the 16-inch G60J and 15.6-inch G51J gaming laptops, both with the Intel Core i7 CPUs.

Asus announced the new N61 and N71 multimedia laptops that come with Asus’ SonicMaster design for delivering unparalleled audio reproduction. Both models are equipped with Altec Lansing speakers and SRS Premium Sound. 

Asus N61 has a 16-inch 1366×768 display and the N71 has a 17.3-inch 1600×900 LCD screen, both with LED-backlighting. They will run Windows 7. The SonicMaster design features a dedicated resonance space arrangement that provides sound layering for crisp and crystal clear audio reproduction. This is achieved by utilizing a paper-foam cone design which dramatically improves the sound quality across the different sonic ranges, allowing users to hear every beat and rhythm being played. The high density foam improves the lower audio range, while paper softens the mid-range vocals, making it more subtle.
